I am avidly against massive dog breeding and have been for quite some time. Puppy mills are the quintessential height of animal cruelty in the realm of dog breeding. Thousands of puppies are found abandoned and homeless every year due in fact to the ignorance of customers. Breeders make false promises on the internet and in the newspaper promising their puppies are not from a puppy mill, and the fact also remains that we buy these cute faced puppies from pet stores with over inflated prices and keep these awful people in business. It sickens me.
We know as we have rescued a puppy mill mama. Our dog Mindy probably never saw a sign of love before she came to us. Someone dumped her at the rescue, she was tattoed, a sign of puppy milling. She had a collar embedded in her neck, covered in fleas and weighed five pounds. The rescue nursed her back to health and we adopted her and she happily lived lounging on down comforters eating lunchmeat for the rest of her days. Many of these mamas don't have that luxury and are tossed out and abandoned when they get to old to breed.
Please educate yourself before you buy a dog. Help stop puppy milling, it is a travesty! Check this out:

Oh Mera, I am so right there with you. Makes me totally sick that people can ever in a million years treat an animal like that. Ugh.
