The familiar premise I get, but the quote exemplified primal conservative ideology. The $1 trillion in taxes and the massive amount of bureaucracy that commands the use of 15,000 new IRS employees aside, the cost of having our liberties slowly stripped and mindfully camouflaged has nothing to do with money.
It is rather, on a pin-pointed level, the forced calculated contracts with which we must enter, and should one elect to dismiss health care, the penalties and prosecution will be waiting. Last I checked, it was our Constitution right that protected the government from infringing on the private rights of an individual. It scares me that this type of forced infringement could become routine with no repercussions. Any opposition will be seen as hatred.
Elected officials' agendas can often play a hand in the lack journalistic integrity. Our "sensational lies", rage, and selective commentary will likely be the bulk of bias media propaganda to come as Obama continues to "educate" us of all the plan has to offer. On a bi-partisan level, we need to hold members of Congress responsible for representing the seeming thorn in their side, the constituents.
"I predict future happiness for Americans if they can prevent the government from wasting the labors of the people under the pretense of taking care of them."
-- Thomas Jefferson
