Gigi's Cupcake Adventure

So at the recommendation of my friend Brandi and the sudden desire to eat cupcakes by my daughter, I recruited my brother Bear and we all headed for Gigi's Cupcakes, this adorable boutique cupcake eatery that just opened near downtown Nashville very similar to Beverly Hills Sprinkles cupcakes. It was so cute and all the cupcakes looked like pieces of art. Bear had the Boston Creme which is yellow cake with custard in the middle, dipped in rich chocolate ganache. I had the Lemon Dream which was yellow cake with lemon buttercream icing and lemon custard in the middle. Gabriella got the birthday surprise which was yellow cake with bright pink buttercream icing and confetti sprinkles. We decided to get Daddy the red velvet cupcake with cream cheese icing. They make them homemade everyday. We picked out Coconut for Bear's girlfriend Beth Ann sprinkled with coconut on top of yummy white buttercream frosting. Mmmmmm, I could eat another one right now!!! They were so moist and just melted in your mouth.

We headed to Vanderbilt and dropped off Beth Ann's cupcake and got to see her office. She has a great view and a big office complete with an impressive array of diplomas and certificates. She works as a doctor of Internal Medicine with several other physicians and works very closely with the med students at Vanderbilt and the VA hospital. Gabby was a little overwhelmed by this whole experience because she is not fond of parking garages or elevators at the moment and clung to mama most of the time. Then we decided to have lunch at Brueggers and ate our cupcakes in the car on the way home. We swung by Walgreens and visited Dad before dropping Bear off. The minute Bear got out of the car, Gabby conked out from such an adventure and is still asleep. Sweet girl!! She was so excited to have another "tuptake" and chatted all about it on the way home. What a fun day!
