Opt OUT!

Since we are indeed moving, I don't want the new owners to be innundated with pre-screened credit card offers. Years ago, I did this, but remember it only lasts five years so don't forget to update it if it's been awhile. Dangerous for identity theft and a waste of paper, get rid of the clutter, both phone and mail.

Got to http://www.optoutprescreen.com/ to enter your address and name to stop getting those pre-screened offers from credit and insurance companies. Anyone could pick it up, fill out your name and send it in. You DO NOT need to put your birthdate and social on there to register

Go to http://www.donotcall.gov/ to register up to three numbers including cell numbers on the National Do Not Call List

Keep a printed copy for your records and within 30 days the mail or calls don't stop, either call the 1-800 on the offer itself and ask to be removed and get a name and operator ID from that person or write a letter certified return receipt directly to the company. Keep all correspondence and date it.
